Stunning Sunset

the other night on my way home from skating i saw the most beautiful sunset i've ever seen in my life. it was a mixture of a dark blue & dark brown and a little hint of the yellow sun, it was so mysterious looking the first word that popped into my head was "witchy". i wanted to get a picture of it but since i was in the car it was really hard and the pictures i did try taking didn't turn out :(

this is the closest picture i could find to the sunset i saw but it still was nothing like this.

Rock Hounding

a passion i have is rock hunting. i go up with Carter, his mom and her boyfriend (Jim) to different places and find amazing rocks.
when i first started dating Carter i found out his mom's boyfriend collected rocks and i thought that sounded interesting and fun.
the first time i went to Jim's house he showed me all of his rocks and they were stunning and i got really inspired so i told Carter's mom i would like to go with them sometime.
i love all the places we go for rock hunting, everywhere is so beautiful and a lot of the places i have never been to before.
we find a lof of different rocks but i mostly love all the crystals we find in them. i have a huge collection and i'm always up to find more and make my collection even bigger. when i go to college i'm looking forward to joining a geology class and possibly having that as one of my professions.

DO NOT eat the marshmallow!!!

"WHOA!!!" where did the marshmallow go?! weren't you told not to eat it?
Joachim de Posada, the speaker of the marshmallow experiment explained how kids 4-5 years of age were placed in a room for 15 minutes and were told not to eat the marshmallow; if they succeeded they would be given another one. two out of three ate the marshmallow; the others picked it up and smelled it, sat it back down and went to walk around the room trying to find a distraction. later on, about 15 years later they went to find the kids who were 18 & 19 years old, they found that 100% of the kids who didn't eat the marshmallow were successful and the kids who had eaten the marshmallow were not as successful. the point of this experiment was to see how many of the children already knew self-discipline (the most important factor for success) and for those who did would most likely be successful and guess what, the experiment was correct. funny how a marshmallow can determine whether a person is going to be successful or not.

Adora Svitak

Adora Svitak is a twelve year old girl who is an author and a teacher; so far she has published 3 books and over 300 short stories. the message she was trying to get out in her presentation was how kids are freguently called "childish" and how adults don't even realize they can be childish as well. she thinks age has nothing to do with acting the way you do. adults seems to think kids are immature and aren't responsible enough but we are and can be. Adora also mentioned we (as in kids) are going to be the next leaders; this really got my attention because could we really end up directing adults in the future just like they do for us now?
